Jose Trevino - Cincinnati Reds Catcher
Trevino is originally from Ben Bolt, Texas, but attended high school at St. John Paul II Catholic School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 6th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, Trevino spent 3 years playing Baseball at Oral Roberts University. After being drafted in 2014, He spsent 2014 to 2017 working his way up through the Rangers Minor League system.
His MLB Debut was on June 15th, 2018 against the Colorado Rockies. After the 2021 season, the Rangers traded Trevino to the New York Yankees, whom he would spend the next 3 seasons with, from 2022 to 2024. His first year in The Bronx, the 2022 season, would serve as a career year, with Trevino earning his first all-star selection. He would ultimately go on to win the American League Gold Glove Award, followed by the Platinum Glove Award.
The Yankees won the American League Pennant in 2024, but fell in the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In December of 2024, Trevino was traded from the New York Yankees to the Cincinnati Reds. Near the end of 2025 Spring Training, he would sign a 3-year extension worth almost $15 Million.
